Privacy Policy

    Last updated: July 10, 2026

Lucent CFO ("we," "us," or "our") provides fractional CFO, accounting, and bookkeeping services to our clients. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information in connection with our internal software tool that integrates with Intuit QuickBooks Online (the "Service").

This Service is used solely by Lucent CFO to deliver accounting and advisory services to our clients. It is not a public consumer application.

    Information We Access and Collect

When a client authorizes our Service to connect to their QuickBooks Online company file, we access financial and business data through Intuit's API, which may include:

    • Financial reports (profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance, general ledger)
    • Transactions, invoices, bills, and payments
    • Customer, vendor, and account records
    • Company profile information (business name, address, fiscal year)

We also store secure authorization tokens provided by Intuit that allow the Service to connect to each authorized company file. We do not access QuickBooks login credentials — authorization is handled entirely by Intuit's secure OAuth process.

    How We Use Information

We use this information only to:

    • Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses for the client
    • Provide bookkeeping, accounting, and fractional CFO services
    • Communicate with the client about their financials

We do not sell, rent, or share client financial data with third parties for marketing purposes.

How We Store and Protect Information

    • Authorization tokens are encrypted at rest and stored on systems controlled by Lucent CFO.
    • Access is limited to authorized Lucent CFO personnel.
    • We use industry-standard measures to protect data against unauthorized access.

    Data Sharing and Sub-processors

We rely on Intuit, Inc. as the provider of QuickBooks Online and its API. Data is transmitted securely between our Service and Intuit. We may share information with service providers who help us operate, only as necessary, under confidentiality obligations, and as required by law.

    Data Retention

We retain access to a client's data only for as long as the client engagement is active. A client may revoke the Service's access at any time through their QuickBooks account (Settings > Apps / Manage Connections), after which we will no longer access their data. We retain financial records as required for our professional and legal obligations.

    Your Rights

Clients may request information about the data we access, ask us to stop accessing their QuickBooks data, or disconnect the Service at any time. Contact us using the details below.
